Jobs

Come to work

These aren’t copy-paste side jobs. Each one has its own loop. Clock in, do the shift, get paid. You get better at them as you go.

Taxi

You’re a cabbie. Fares show up around the city and they aren’t all the same. Some want a quiet ride. Some want you to fly. Chatty ones tip if you don’t freeze them out. Wreck the car or scare a careful passenger and the money drops. Surge hours pay more.

You can take a company cab from the lot or drive your own car. Named drop-offs all over town. Mission Row, Vespucci, the pier, Rockford. Do the job well and you level up.

How to
  1. Target the taxi clock and start your shift.
  2. Grab a company cab or stay in your own car.
  3. Wait for a fare, pick them up, listen to what they want.
  4. Drive to the drop-off. Smooth for the careful ones, quick for the impatient ones.
  5. Get paid, then wait for the next ping.

Garbage

Trash day. You take a truck, run a route, and dump the load. Early routes are short. As you level, they get longer and pay more. You can drive into dumpsters to load, or hop out, target a bag, and carry it. Open the rear hatch to dump.

If bags fall out, pick them up and load them again before you keep going. You can run it with a friend.

How to
  1. Clock in at garbage and take a truck from the lot.
  2. Drive the route. Hit every dumpster.
  3. Drive into it, or target the bag on foot and carry it to the truck.
  4. Target the rear, open the hatch, dump when you’re full.
  5. Finish the route. Longer ones unlock as you get better.

Bus

You’re the city’s ride. People wait at real stops, get on, sit down, and get off later. Pull up, don’t block the door, let them board, move on. Other players can ride too. It’s slower than taxi, and that’s the point. The city actually uses you.

How to
  1. Target the bus clerk and clock in.
  2. Take a bus from the depot.
  3. Drive to the next stop on the route.
  4. Stop and let people on and off.
  5. Keep the loop going until you clock out.

Shipping

Boat work out of the LS port. You pick a cargo: produce, electronics, fuel drums, lumber, fishing supplies, steel. Each load has a weight and a dock it needs to reach. Paleto, Grapeseed, or Chumash. Bigger boats hold more. Smaller boats are faster.

The ocean isn’t a loading screen. Leaks and fires happen. You stop, fix it, and finish the run, or you sink the payday.

How to
  1. Clock in at the port.
  2. Pick a boat that can actually hold the cargo.
  3. Choose a job from the board and load up.
  4. Sail to the dock on the ticket.
  5. Unload. If it leaks or catches fire, target it and fix it before you go down.

Warehouse

Forklift work at the port. Orders come in small, medium, or large. Packages are real stuff: building materials, raw goods, liquids. You pick them up, take them to the right pile or the trailer, and send the load out. Two people on the same order make more money. Forklifts run on propane. Refuel them or you’re walking.

How to
  1. Clock in at the warehouse.
  2. Grab a forklift. Fill it if it’s empty.
  3. Pick an order size you can finish.
  4. Target packages, load the trailer, take it to the drop zone.
  5. Bring a friend if you want. Co-op pays extra.

Armored

You’re moving other people’s cash. Clock in, take the stockade, hit bank stops around town, and bring it home to the vault. Bags are one at a time. Target them, carry them, load the rear. Don’t treat it like a death race. You’re a rolling target with a job to finish.

How to
  1. Target the armored clerk and clock in.
  2. Take the truck from the depot.
  3. Drive to each bank stop on the run.
  4. Target a bag, carry it to the rear, load it. Repeat.
  5. Take the full load back to the vault and drop it.

Mechanic

This isn’t a menu that slaps a full repair on the car. You work in a shop. Clock in, take work orders, put cars on lifts, inspect them, and install the parts that are actually wrong. NPC customers pull in. Players bring their rides. You can inspect a car in the street too. The shop has to order stock. You earn the place by doing the work.

How to
  1. Get on at a shop and clock in.
  2. Take a work order or greet a customer who pulled in.
  3. Put the car on a lift if it needs one.
  4. Target the car, inspect it, then repair or install what’s broken.
  5. Finish the job and send them off.

There’s also housing, crafting, farms, heists, TVs, music, derby, and pets. Regular city stuff. Not a cash shop.
